What Ugees has live

The primary surface. Handles the refill-versus-bottle-versus-combo decision that is the entire catalog.

Comment to DM, running off Meta ads. A comment on a paid post is auto-answered with the right pack and a direct buy link into the DM, so ad spend lands in a chat rather than on a product page.

Order status and reorder, on the channel Indian customers already use for both.

Offer and free-shipping-threshold prompts on a catalog where the pack decision is the conversion event.

Ugees makes a specialist liquid detergent for undergarments and delicates, sold as a bottle, a travel pack, a refill and several combos. Founded by Rahul Tyagi and Samiksha Yadav, the brand appeared on Shark Tank India and took investment from Anupam Mittal; it is plant-based, IFRA-certified on fragrance and uses 100% biodegradable surfactants. Sold direct from ugees.in and through BigBasket, Flipkart, FirstCry and Smytten, Ugees runs three conversational channels on YourLio AI.

01

Challenge: one product, and a pack decision nobody understands

Ugees essentially sells one thing. The complexity is not the product, it is the format: a bottle, a travel pack of two, a refill pack, and three different combos. The single most asked question in the whole account was "Why buy Refill instead of 2 regular bottles?": a pure merchandising question that decides basket size.

The second problem is category education. Because the product is a niche most people have never bought, shoppers ask whether it can be used by both men and women, whether it is safe, and how it differs from ordinary detergent. The recorded theme is unisex suitability for intimate wash: that is a first-purchase objection on a product the customer did not know existed.

The third is offers. The recorded objection is precise and expensive: shoppers asked "Any offers?" repeatedly and still did not add to cart. An offer the customer cannot resolve is worse than no offer, because it stalls a decision that was otherwise made.

And demand arrives socially. Instagram carried a meaningful share of chats, comments on posts and reels, from an audience discovering a category rather than comparing brands.

What shoppers asked
  • Why Buy Refill instead of 2 regular bottles?, Undergarment Wash Refill Pack
  • Can this be used by both Men and Women?, Undergarment Liquid Wash
  • Any offers on this product?, Undergarment Wash Refill Pack
Where they got stuck
  • Delivery timeline uncertainty even after a standard shipping window was given
  • Offer eligibility confusion, asking about offers repeatedly without adding to cart
  • Trust questions about freshness, expiry, and whether a value pack is clearance stock
02

Solution: three channels, one decision

The Website Agent owns the pack decision. Refill versus bottle versus combo is the entire conversion event, and the agent explains the economics rather than showing six similar cards.

Instagram AI handles comment to DM. A comment on a post gets an automatic reply with the right product and a direct buy link straight into the DM, which matters for a brand whose discovery is social and whose audience is finding out the category exists.

WhatsApp AI carries order status and reorder. This is a consumable, so the second purchase should not require a website visit at all.

The Nudge Engine addresses the offer stall directly. Because the agent knows the live promotion and the free-shipping threshold, "Any offers?" gets an answer specific enough to act on rather than a yes.

03

Strategy: how Ugees runs it now

36.7% of chats end in an order. That is the highest rate across all twenty brands in the YourLio dataset, and it comes from a very particular shape.

A one-product catalog converts if the pack logic is explained. Product Info led at over 1,000 chats and Product Discovery at 470. With one product line and several formats, almost every chat is the same decision, which is why the conversion rate is so high. The refill pack and the combos were among the most-discussed items throughout the window.

Treat Instagram comments as inventory. Instagram carried 461 chats, nearly a quarter. For a category-creating brand, a comment is a person who just found out the product exists. Comment to DM turns that moment into a buy link instead of a like.

Make the offer answerable. 332 chats were classified as Offer/Rewards, 17.4% of all volume. The recorded objection is that shoppers asked about offers repeatedly and still did not add to cart. An agent that knows the exact live promotion converts that question instead of parking it.

Steal this playbook

  1. 01

A narrow catalog is a conversion advantage

One product line and several formats produced the best conversion rate across twenty brands.

  2. 02

Comment to DM is discovery infrastructure for category-creating brands

A comment is someone who just learned the product exists.

  3. 03

Answer the offer question with a number, not a yes

Shoppers asked repeatedly and still did not convert; that is a stalled decision, not a browsing pattern.

  4. 04

    Explain the refill economics

"Why buy refill instead of two bottles?" was the single most asked question in the account, and it is a basket-size question.

  5. 05

    Put reorder on WhatsApp

A consumable's second purchase should not need a website visit.

Questions about this deployment

36.7%, at Ugees, across over 1,500 chats between 1 July and 7 September 2026. It is the highest rate among twenty brands measured, and it comes from a single-product catalog where almost every chat is the same pack decision.

A clear upgrade from traditional chatbots that rely on rigid prebuilt flows. Responsive, efficient, easy to understand.
